Wearable NFC/CX

We were delighted to partner with Smartrac and Spyder to deploy IoT technology in a innovative range of ski jackets from Spyder.

We engaged with Jason Weiss and his development team at Smartrac to jointly develop hardware and software to support a secure and efficient integration of the technology into the garments as they went through production in factories in Vietnam.

The objective was not only to deliver meaningful content to consumers based upon location and time of day but also to make the relationship between user and garment so secure that promotions and financial rewards could be offered through the connection.

This entailed creating a method of inserting the technology that ensured brand authentication but also garment registration to the owner.

The project was built on a deep understanding of both the garment manufacturing and factory process and the technology capabilities and technology security considerations.

The first project of its kind for all involved, the input that we were able to make to the creation of the Smart Cosmos platform and hardware development of the secure encoding stations was highly rewarding.

We developed a new technical support team, based in Hong Kong, that was able to provide training and helpdesk services for factories throughout the region.

“They have been a great team to integrate this process. Our supply chain was not at all disrupted and we now have all the benefits from having the NFC chip in our products”.
